Location

This house is as close as you can get to the ocean (right across the street...no building is allowed on the beach).  The house is located at the very northern tip of North Wildwood, in Anglesea, across the Hereford Inlet from Stone Harbor.  It is near the Ocean Drive, at the corner of Virginia Avenue and Anglesea Drive.  Since no building is allowed on the beach, you need to cross the street to get to the shore area, which is state-owned and covered with short trees and bushes, with walkways to the seawall.  A map is available (provided by MapQuest) but it does not provide exactly the right location.  The actual location is a bit north-east of what is shown here, right by the water.

FEATURES:

How Close Is This House to the Swimming Beach???

We get this question a lot.  Though the water in front of the house is beautifully clear, you cannot swim there because of the rocks (a rock seawall and dunes surround the water in front of the house).  The seawall is great for hiking, sunbathing, and fishing, or just watching the boats go by.  The closest swimming beach is a beautiful white-sand beach that can be seen from the house, south (to the right of the house) about 4 blocks if you walk along the seawall (5 blocks if you prefer to walk on the sidewalks).  There is free parking at the beach (get there early for this!) and there is also a large metered parking lot, in case you don't want to walk.  The beach is guarded by the North Wildwood lifeguards, the sandy beach is short so you won't have to walk too far to reach the water's edge and there is no charge for the beach (no beach tags required).  There are public restrooms nearby.  Several  restaurants are just a block away.
