Internet Access

While you are staying at one of the www.maryhouse.com properties

Dial-up internet service is available at all the MaryHouse properties using the phone line(s) in the houses.  Local calls are included with your rental, so if you do not want to incur long-distance charges, there are two services available:  AOL or DANDY.  (sorry, no DSL or CABLE internet services are available)

It is also possible that some houses will be able to access a Wireless network, so if you are bringing a computer that has a wireless card installed, you may be pleasantly surprised to find that it can tap into a local wireless hookup that will give you higher speed than dial-up.  Note that access to a wireless network is not guaranteed and that such access may be open and therefore not secure.

There are also several places in town where you can surf the net, with or without your own computer, including Internet Cafe's, the local library, and 'hot spots' at a variety of hotels and public areas.  Information about these locations will be found in the Information Book in the house when you arrive.

Partner ImageAOL has recently added local access numbers for the area local to Cape May, Wildwood and Anglesea.  Refer to www.aol.com to obtain local numbers in the 609 area code.  If you don't use AOL, you can download their software for a free trial (and the trial period is likely longer than your stay).  To do this, click on "New AOL" in the AOL directory list on their home page.

EarthLink  Like AOL, Earthlink has also added local dialup numbers and you can use your AOL email address with their service.  For details, go to www.earthlink.net/dialup/

Through a special arrangement, the owner of the MaryHouse properties is able to offer short term low-cost internet access through a national carrier, DandyNet.  DandyNet (www.dandy.net) offers high-quality internet access and provides local access numbers in the Cape May, Wildwood, and Anglesea areas.  When you use DandyNet to access the internet during your stay at one of the MaryHouse properties, you won't have to make costly long distance, calling card, or credit card calls to access your email or do on-line work.

To setup your DandyNet internet access, be sure to contact them directly at 800-636-1188 (choose option '2' on the phone menu to get their Internet Service).  Mention that you were given this information by MaryHouse.   You may also signup online at https://dandy.net/onlinesignup.shtml.  If you signup on line, choose the personal dial-up service.  Then, at the end of the online application, where it asks for the name of a friend or reference, type "MaryHouse".

You must mention that you are renting at a MaryHouse property in order to receive the special short term access and rate.

As part of the signup, a DandyNet representative will contact you, confirm the dates that you need the service, and walk you through the setup process.

You can pay for the service with credit card, bank account debit,  or PayPal to info@dandy.net

Lead time is minimal.  Accounts can be setup on the same day that you request this service!

Please refer  to http://www.dandy.net/setupinst/helpdesk/dial/index.shtml for a list of Setup
Instructions.

Local access numbers can be found online at http://www.dandy.net/coverage_area/index.html

For more information, refer to the www.dandy.net website or call them at  800-636-1188, option 2 of the main menu.
