The Ocean Victorian is one of Cape May's most historic and distinctive properties. Its  unique design is a fully restored version of 1880's French Second Empire architecture, with two levels of decks and porches, offering beautiful views of the beach and boardwalk.

Location

The Ocean Victorian  is located on popular Ocean Street in the heart of the historic district of the City of Cape May.  Surrounded by Bed & Breakfast Inns and only steps from the beach (just 3 houses between this property and the beach!), this house is ideally situated for family and friends who want to walk to the town's most popular restaurants and historic sites, but also enjoy easy beach bathing and sunning!

Comfortable Elegance.....Upon entering the first floor gingerbread porch with its comfortable wicker rockers, guests enter through a welcoming foyer that opens to a large, comfortably-furnished living room to the left and a large billiards room with big-screen TV and entertainment center on the left. Rooms have twelve-foot ceilings, beautiful woodwork and lovely wall decoration. French doors open to the Billiards Room, Living Room, and Dining Room. Furnishings in all of the rooms are elegant yet comfortable, making the house perfect for a family vacation for adults and children.

Large Eating Spaces - The dining room and kitchen offer plenty of seating for large groups.  The dining room offers a banquet table with 6 leaves to easily accommodate 18 people.  A separate round table for 4 is nestled in the corner of the same room, for smaller gatherings or separate dining for children, if desired.  The kitchen offers a nice size table for casual dining or relaxing with coffee or snacks while watching your favorite TV program.

Kitchen and Laundry Rooms offer more than you could imagine - The gourmet kitchen offers Granite Counters, Viking appliances (HUGE refrigerator and an oversized stove with burners, warming shelf plus grill), a commercial dishwasher that does a load of dishes in 8 minutes, a large sink with garbage disposal, plus a smaller bar sink with plenty of counter space.  The laundry room offers an oversized washer and 2 extra-capacity washers.

Comfort and Flexibility..... Sleeping accommodations can be used in ways that suit your needs.  The house offers 8 plush guestrooms. Each room is uniquely decorated and furnished. The pastel colors create an instant aura of romance and relaxation.  The large guestrooms welcome you with premium king and queen-size beds.  One room offers 2 twin beds.  Six of the 8 bedrooms have private baths with wall-mounted hairdryers and magnifying mirrors (one bath is shared between the two 3rd floor bedrooms).  Several have both showers and clawfoot tubs. Each bedroom has a color TV, some with built-in VCR's and/or DVD players.  Each bedroom  has a small refrigerator so you can easily enjoy your favorite bedtime snack.  Some rooms offer coffee counter and/or microwave so you can fully enjoy popcorn and a movie or early morning coffee in bed!

The third floor of The Ocean Victorian features ocean views and two rooms which can be used as separate bedrooms or as part of a 4-room master suite, featuring 1 King bed, 1 Full bed, 1 Queen sleep sofa and a separate room suitable for a crib or youth bed.  There are plenty of windows to capture those ocean views and breezes. The cozy sitting and reading area located just off the main parlor (which features a queen-size sleep sofa) for those quiet times by the sea can be used as a baby's crib room. The large master bedroom is fitted with a king-size bed for the best night's sleep and features a romantic claw-foot bathtub in the corner of the room. The second bedroom of this suite features a gas fireplace and full size bed.  The parlor area also offers a functional kitchenette with sink, microwave, and dining supplies.  A separate full bath with shower rounds out the suite - an ideal accommodation for vacationing couples or family units who want space and privacy within a larger group setting. (sleeping in this unit alone accommodates 6 people plus crib).
